Physical Description: Kuerne has short black hair that covers her small ears or that she tucks behind her ears now and then. Her eyes are grey and she has a little scar just above her left eyebrow. Her tan is light brown from spending much time outdoors.

Personality & Traits
General Overview: Kuerne is normally a calm person sometimes overexcited person. She is friendly and polite towards most person she sees as she likes to make her own judgement about someone instead of believing the rumours.She likes a good party now and then but she can easily be found wandering around on her own or running a tour in the nearby park to clear her thougths. Recent events however have changed her and sometimes she just prefers to be left alone with her thougths.
Strengths & Weaknesses: Strenght: She's always eager to learn new things and she tries to addapt to the people surrounding her.
Weaknesses: Her curiosity and overexcitement can get her into trouble at times.
Hobbies & Interests: Kuerne always liked sports and is eager to learn new things, she likes to observ other people. Her favorite drink is orange juice and she just adores fresh strawberries. She doesn't like to lose in physical tests yet she already learned the hard way that she can't win them all.

History
Born on Earth, Kuerne grew up together with her five year elder brother Lachlan. Her father Jacques Dianti owns a giftshop while her mother Jenny McAllister, next to raising the children also worked parttime at the local hospital as a nurse. They lived in an appartment above the shop and close to the citypark.
Together with her brother she was well known with the other local children when they meet together in the nearby park to play and do little runningcontests. It is also in the park that she was given her nickname Dia. Cause if someone called for Dia, garantueed that both Lachlan and Kuerne would show up. Kuerne also learned to know one of her best friends there: Shelagh, a half Human/Betazoid. Even after Lachlan went to school she kept going to the park on her own to challenge the other children into runningraces.
When it was her time to go to school Kuerne excelled in sports and athletics, while she did average and sometimes excellent in the other courses and following in her mother footsteps she had extra interest in the medical courses.
The Dianti family was pretty close so it came as a shock to Kuerne when her brother decided he wanted to fly his own spaceship and become a merchant in space.
With the help of his parents Lachlan got a position on a freighter and now and then when he went on small trips during the holidays he took Kuerne with him. And so Kuerne experienced her first voyages in space: meeting new people, seeing new places (and the occasional running when a trade went the wrong way.)
Seeing her brother as an example she decided that space travel was also what she wanted to do. But she wanted more though then just being a merchant, flying from one destination to another so in her free time she started reading about other species and she also tried to make more contact with non-humans to try to understand them better.
Realising though that travelling in space would also mean saying goodbye from her family and friends, Kuerne started to be more select with the people she really came close with except for a young Vulcan named Sinok who now and then came to buy something in her father's shop. After some time she started dating him but things didn't work out, they still keep in touch tough, even after he went back to Vulcan.
After Sinok she dated a few other men, mostly humans, but she never found the friendship and understanding again that Sinok showed her.
When Kuerne was getting closer to the age of 18 she informed her parents what she wanted to do with her future: She wanted to join the Starfleet Academy. Her parents reluctantly accepted that they would have to say goodbye to their daughter when Kuerne would one day leave them to serve on a spaceship if she succeeded in the Academy. Afteral it would mean that both their children would be out there between the bright stars.
Finishing the Academy she joined the USS Rainmaker, where after completing her medical studies, she became chief medical officer. Though during one of the last missions on the same ship, she hadn't been able to save the lives of some of her crewmembers and somehow Kuerne felt responsible for their death. She blamed herself that much that she no longer could see herself function as chief medical officer so she opted for a change in her career and decided to try out the counseling branch.
Though that didn't work out either and after a few weeks she returned back to Earth to try to come to terms with things.
