History and personality: Kethas is a problem and has always been a problem. His parents (father a well-known captain, mother a doctor) often wondered why their eldest son had turned into a cook. He was given all the usual education to prepare him to rise in the ranks of the military and be a great warrior like his father and grandfather. When he entered military training, things were at first hopeful. He excelled in physical combat and wasn't a bad shot and did quite well in the survival training. It was there that Kethas began to slide in the wrong direction. He discovered he could make survival off the land edible. He began to explore different meals and dishes in his rare free time. He entered a contest for the fun of it and won - his meal was served to the commander of the academy. His family thought they'd sink into the ground and never hold their heads up high again.
Fortunately his younger brother and even his younger sister have grown and moved on toward military heights. Kethas is seen as an embarrassment which has strained his relationship with his family, but not ended it. His grandfather told the family, "What I wouldn't have given to have had a cook like Kethas with me."
Kethas is single and uncommitted. He has a good reputation in the military as a cook, and is, in fact, a chef, which he'll tell anyone who tries to call him a cook. (see how to use cleaver in nearest encyclopedia). He runs his kitchen as if he were a marine and is very much in charge. He's a hard worker, constantly looks for new ways to cook new food or old food and to end up cooking for an admiral is his dream.
He's more than a cook, however, as he's well able to defend himself and his precious kitchen/galley. He listened well to everything he was taught during training and twisted it around to suit the kitchen.
For a good meal, see Kethas, but don't complain about it later.
