And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by, From this day to the ending of the world, But we in it shall be remembered- We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he today that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile, This day shall gentle his condition; And gentlemen in England now-a-bed Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap while any speaks That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day. ~Henry V, William Shakespeare The term Band of Brothers has been used many times through out history, to signify a group of people united in a single goal. We use this term with the same view. We to are united in one thing... to play. We are simmers, roll play gammers, from D&D, Traveller, Star Trek, BSG, Star Wars, anything that can be simmed. Each simm in this group is Independent, with no 'fleet admiral' telling you how to play. If it is a millitary style simm, your rank does not carry over to the Out of Game areas. Each of us are a person, and like all the other persons, we laugh, we cry, we joke, love, and live. There are a few reasons to simm; to tell the stories, to bond with simm-mate, and to make friends. As such we have a place for that here. Safe Haven and The Band of Brothers Safe Haven is a social forum, no fleet politics are involved, just a place to hang out, play, talk, joke, commiserate and make friends. All are welcome, join the forum and go to the introduction where you can say your a real person. The Band of Brothers is a group of simms, if your interested in bringing a simm in the only qualifications is it has to be independent of any fleet, it has to be active, (2 players, 20 players, it don't matter as long as your playing) Just send me your request, site links, (for both site and where you play if it is two different places) and we will get you put into the system. |

"We are who we are." ~ Rear-Admiral Estaban Maturin (when asked why TF-44 'Grey Mist' didn't change it's name and number when leaving Bravo Fleet) Gray Mist has been who they were for over a decade. We are a group of simmers, but more then that, we are a family. We watch out for each other, and help one another where ever we can. That has been the way of Grey Mist from the beginning. And it will be that way well past the time of the end too. For we won't die and go away. We are the Grey Mist! Grey Mist is made up of two different times in the Star Trek universe. TF-22 covers TOS, TMP, and the new movie's alternate universe. TF-44 is set in the Post Nemesis time period. We have friendly places for you to play, pick a simm and join it, or if command is more your style, pick a ship in the Open Commands area and apply for the position of Captain. Welcome to Grey Mist |

Like Band of Brothers and Safe Haven, Smallport is a little group or community that has been around. Both simms in Smallport are members of the Band of Brothers. They have shown that they are friends of ours so I wish to do the same. Smallport I paticularly like their choice in webpages. So drop by Smallport, and look around. Also be sure to stop in at Safe Haven and tell him hi. The GFCC is a collection of fan fic works, some of which are published in the Band of Brothers main page, ( A Tale of Klingon Hearts and A Q Christmas Carol ) Be sure to drop by and see them, read some of his works. I have. ;) |

A man sat in the dingy bar, doing his best to ignore the other patrons around him. His focus was the center of the sphere of zero-g atmosphere in front of him. Ardons VI was known for its bars, its bars were known for their patrons, and their patrons were known for their "rare" cargo. Some of that cargo was writhing in the center of the viewing sphere, doing its best to be noticed. Orion animal women were said to be the one of the few commodities in the galaxy that no man could resist. Three of them were twisting and dancing in the center of the arena, offering a glimpse of their full abilities to the eager patrons of the bar. Already, several small purple laser lights were coming down from the private booths around the viewing area. As the girls caught each light, they slowly gravitated toward the patron in the booth for a "private dance." The old man toyed with his laser, almost tempted to use it. He'd spent a month on this miserable planet, establishing a reputation as a gambler and trader with a generous supply of latinum. Purchasing some company was also one of his reputed "pastimes." He tugged lightly at the neck of his shirt. The outfit he wore was casual, but deceptively efficient. His muscles were hard under his shirt, his face set with hard lines, his eyes sharp and fierce. He sipped his drink slowly, waiting for his "usual" He wasn't long in waiting; she emerged from the slave hole right on time. Orion women were trained to dance as early as age seven. This one had shown high intelligence and her master had begun her training at 5. The man had been soliciting her company for almost his entire length of stay, and had become quite familiar with her history. In Orion terms, she was a prime commodity, with both zeal and professionalism. In Ferengi terms, she was a property new enough to have a novel markup, yet experienced enough to ensure quality equity. In human terms, she was a talented gymnast for a girl barely thirteen. It made him sick to watch any of them; however it broke his heart to watch her. She bore a passing resemblance to one of his daughters, and seeing her in this condition tore at his sense of right and wrong. She dutifully ignored the lights of the other patrons, doing as both her master and he had instructed. Her master's instruction was to drive up the price offer. His instruction was to guarantee her service. He counted off the seconds in his mind and turned his light towards her. She spotted it instantly and glided with grace and practiced ease up to his booth, causing dissatisfied grunts from a booth elsewhere in the bar. It took her only a few moments to reach his high perch. He preferred the upper booths, where the music was reduced from a mind-numbing pounding, to a mere annoyance. Now they could talk. "You wish me?" she asked playfully, knowing full well he always requested her specifically. "I do," he said, smiling. He held up a padd and she pressed her thumbprint against it. She was now his for a short time. "Do you remember our last meeting?" he asked, sitting back and motioning out of the booth for more food and drink. "Yes. Before I sleep I do what you say. I remember most of what you said," she replied. Her language skills were higher than most Orion girls. Slaves, as a rule, were not to be educated. The man had appreciated her mind as much as her body the moment he saw her. He'd been careful to let his search be discreet, but now it was paying off. "Good girl," he said trying not to sound too doting. He procured his padd again, and again she pressed her thumb against it. "One more," he offered, nearly crushed to see the delight in her eyes at having time to rest. Slaves danced, and slept; occasionally they ate. They were worked hard and took any time to rest as being more precious than latinum. A waiter brought him his usual order and set it on the table, casting a glance the girl's way. He leaned over to the man as if to inform him of the contents of his order. "If you desire others of her...status...I can accommodate you for a reasonable price," he said and smiled knowingly. The man smiled back and held out his hand. The waiter passed him an isolinear chip which, the man suspected, contained the waiter’s "wares" and their prices. He made a note to himself to see to this man's arrest personally. |

Join ST: Lost Era
And Ressi will love you long time! Ok, perhaps not but I'll still be very happy.
Star Trek: Lost Era (http://stlostera.proboards.com/index.cgi) is currently looking for players to join the forum and fill any number of positions on the pilot game of the group. We're still in the building process and getting everything up and running but our first game, the USS Eisenhower Ambassador-class Starship, has gone active and we are posting now.
For those that are unfamiliar with the Lost Era timeline in Star Trek it is the period of time between the conclusion of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country and the beginning of Star Trek: The Next Generation, or the years 2293-2363. As of this moment, the group is going to be starting in the year 2327.
While we are just getting started we are a group that is being run by people that have a lot of experience in running Star Trek Sims, and we also have someone that knows enough about the Lost Era timeline to keep things straight from a timeline standpoint to be true to the history of the Lost Era. There's a lot of interesting events to explore and be a part of during the Lost Era, including: the election of Hikaru Sulu to Federation President, a war with the Cardassians, the Cardassian occupation of Bajor, the Setlik III massacre, the Khitomer Massacre, and the Narendra III incident to name just a few.
So, drop by our forums and take a look around. Sign up. Take part. We value the input of every player in the group and try to ensure that we make decisions based on what the group wants to do rather than what a handful of people in leadership positions are interested in. So, if this sounds like the group for you then by all means join up and we look forward to having you.
Black Sun Rising - An Original Firefly RPG
So, wonderful Band of Brothers people, aside from hoping that we might get some wonderful new players in our fun Firefly world, I have a specific character that I am looking to recast: Les Damek, fiancé of the main ship’s captain, Khalia Nyári, and best friend to one of the other crew members, Yanko Jofranka.
About two months ago, we had a key player leave the game because of RL issues, and we put the board on hiatus (as I was out of the country for a month as well), with the hopes that she’d be able to return and we could all pick back up and resume the current plot. We’re small, and know that RL sometimes kicks you in the ass, and it seemed like a good decision all around. As it turns out, the player cannot come back after all, and since we’re a small board and this was a key character for both the game and the captain’s character, we’re now in a bit of a lurch. We – and I personally as the captain’s player – would really like to find a new player for this character, as the other option for continuing is a reboot of the game, and we’d all rather continue where we left off or shortly thereafter. Plus, he’s a pretty cool character in his own right, so … The link to his profile is here - Les Damek - but here’s a brief summary of their relationship:
Both the Captain and Damek are formerly Alliance officers, and were on activity duty during the war for independence. The Captain was an Operative at the time, and came aboard Damek’s ship to be transferred to a mission site. While there, the two had an impulsive and highly charged affair that lasted only a few days, and became more than just the happy fun times they both expected it to be. The Captain left, and they expected they would never see each other again. Both fell in love with the other, but neither could say it, and thought the relationship was doomed anyway.
A year afterwards, Damek found out with the help of a his best friend Yanko that independent terrorists had killed the woman he loved, and after a halfhearted attempt to end his life – prevented by the same friend – he descended into a shallow life of debauchery, liquor and bar-fights. He didn’t know that her death had been a ruse to allow her to leave the Alliance, and to protect him from their reach.
Six years later, a chance encounter with a doctor on a small planet led him to the Captain’s ship. After a rough start, and lots of explanations, the two reconciled and are now engaged. The game went on hiatus right before they could get married.
Yanko Jofranka is Les’ best friend, and the two of them get into all kinds of trouble together. Yanko is his former Master Chief in the Alliance, and Les still views him as his superior officer.
Our board allows mature content, and that has been part of the writing between these characters in the past, as both players were comfortable with that and wanted to play it out; it is by no means a requirement for a new player. Any new player would be allowed to tweak the bio to make the character their own, and all we would need is an RP sample as the character as an audition.
So, that's about it. Please feel free to PM me here or send an email if you're interested or if you have any questions. There are certainly some threads on the board that would give valuable info on the character and what not.
Thanks for reading!
USS Constellation
Once again, I'm here asking for new blood for my little simm. We recently switched from SMS to Play-by-Forum, and we lost a few people during the switch over (guess they don't like forum simms).
The USS Constellation is a Sovereign-class ship that's exploring the Gamma Quadrant. The Commanding Officer is Captain Tersus Aram, a Bajoran veteran of the Resistance who knows how to fight, but would prefer not to. The rest of the crew includes a by-the-book XO and an Intelligence Officer who is part Human and part Bajoran, among others.
We're trying to get back to the basics of Star Trek, peaceful exploration, though we will fight if we have to. We have a number of openings, including SCE Team Leader, if you're a fan of that series of books, as I am.
Give us a look at the above link which is our SMS site... if you'd like to see the forum, just click "The Forum" in the top bar.
U.S.S. King George V
Deep in the Gamma Quadrant a new era of space exploration has begun. The New Exploration Command's home is on (and in) the asteroid Demophone, deep in the Amroni sector. It's a center for diplomacy, science and learning. The flagship of the NEC is the U.S.S. King George V, a modified Intrepid class cruiser, fitted with the most cutting edge and often experimental technology in the fleet.
The "George" needs bold officers to lead the way into the future:
Navigator
Operations Officer
Engineer
Intelligence Officer
Come join Admiral Hall, Captain Fernandez, and the brave crew of the U.S.S. King George V as they boldly go where no one has gone before.
------------------------
The U.S.S. King George V is a non-canon, play-by-forum RPG set beyond the Federation borders in a mostly unexplored region with new friends, new enemies, and new dangers. The game tries to recapture the spirit of exploration and wonder where you never know what lies beyond the next horizon.
